EYV's Junior Choir program was introduced to provide young children in grades K - 3 with the opportunity to develop their voices and musicianship in an exciting, positive, age-appropriate atmosphere. EYV is pleased to offer this unique exposure to the world of choral singing for our youngest singers.
In this program, students are introduced to quality choral music and beginning vocal technique. Repertoire selection encompasses a wide variety of genres, including classical, folk, sacred, secular, contemporary, and multicultural. Singers will take initial steps in reading from a choral score, thus enhancing a child’s ability to read both words and music. Students build listening and memory skills through weekly practice and develop confidence and stage presence in preparation for performances. Of course, they also play singing games, make friends, and have lots of fun!
Placement in EYV Junior Choir is by registration. No audition or experience necessary!

The EYV Chamber Choir brings together all kinds of amazing people who are committed to making beautiful music and who love to sing together each week. Developed to nurture and challenge our young adolescent singers and augment and enrich the technical, musical, and vocal skills of our older singers, the Chamber Choir provides a safe and accepting community where singers are encouraged to take risks and step outside of their comfort zones. Singers in this group also act as leaders within EYV, and have opportunities to work with and help our younger singers.
The Chamber Choir performs increasingly challenging repertoire and continues to strive for excellence in choral artistry, vocal technique, and performance. Singers in this group have opportunities for small group instruction in sectionals, as well as opportunities to sing with the older and younger choirs. Chamber Choir singers have the option to participate in a yearly tour, which continues to be a highlight for our singers.

**High school students who are registered in Chamber Choir may also sing in Ensemble.

The EYV Ensemble was created for our oldest singers who are excited to sing more difficult music and are comfortable singing two or three to a part. The Ensemble performs a wide variety of challenging repertoire, from early music to contemporary a cappella. Rehearsals are short and focused (and fun!), so singers are expected to spend time learning parts outside of rehearsals.
**High school students must be registered in Chamber Choir to sing in Ensemble.
Singers who have graduated high school may sing in either Chamber Choir or Ensemble or both.
